In order to help develop the agricultural leaders of tomorrow, Promised Land Dairy again participated in 2013 as a VIP Auction Sponsor at the San Antonio Livestock Exposition (SALE). Every year, we commit to purchasing the livestock projects that the Future Farmers of America or 4 H high school students raise at the Junior Livestock Auction. The funds the youth receive go toward their scholarship funds or funding their next project animal if they are not yet graduating. The auction this year raised $5.3 million for the youth of Texas!
This year, we participated in the purchase of 33 different livestock projects and helped expand the opportunities of many of these very dedicated young people.
We helped to raise a portion of these funds by operating a booth on the grounds staffed by awesome volunteers who believe in our mission, which sold Promised Land milk, hot Midnight Chocolate, and ice cream cones supplied by our partner companies.
This year with amazing sunshine the entire 18 days, we had unprecedented sales which will allow us to support even more youth than we have been able to do previously.
We love to share thank you letters and responses from some of the many youth that together we are helping. We hope you may enjoy them as well. For pictures, check out the album on our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/promisedlanddairy.
For more information on the San Antonio Livestock Exposition and the phenomenal job they do using thousands of volunteers to raise millions of dollars in scholarship funding for the leaders of tomorrow, please visit their web site (sarodeo.com). Hopefully you will believe as much in this worthwhile project as do we.
